Welcome to WaterWiser®, a comprehensive clearinghouse of resources on water conservation, efficiency and demand management for conservation professionals and the larger water supply community.

Launched in 1994 by AWWA’s Water Conservation Division and managed by the WaterWiser Steering Committee, this interactive Water Efficiency Clearinghouse links users to

• the WaterWiser Discussion Forum,
• the bimonthly WiserWatch newsletter,
• an Event Calendar,
• a searchable listing of educational programs,
• a series of regional case studies,
• hundreds of topic-based links to relevant online resources,
• an online marketplace of conservation products in the AWWA Bookstore and The Water Library and job listings within the AWWA Career Center, and
• access to conservation references, including the searchable conservation section of AWWA’s Waternet® bibliographic database and presentations from AWWA’s 2006 Water Sources conference and 2007 Conservation Workshop in downloadable PDF format.

This site also links users to several critical electronic tools, including

• the WaterWiser Drip Calculator to estimate water loss from leaks,
• free Water Audit software,
• a downloadable Unit Conversion Tool that serves as a centralized source of conversion parameters that water utilities commonly use, and
• the virtual Water Saver Home site from the California Urban Water Conservation Council.

AWWA recently began discussions with leadership of the new Alliance for Water Efficiency to develop a co-branded online conservation clearinghouse.
